My First Editorial Wedding Shoot!

After weeks of planning, scouting locations, shopping, emailing, and visiting vendors, I had my first editorial wedding photography shoot this past week-end!  There were a few hiccups (my original groom cancelled last minute, it was tropically humid, and the wee pesky mosquitoes were out in full force); however, if I do say so myself, it was a huge success.  I have to send some love to my models, Cynthia, Thomas and Eloise. Having modelled only a few times previously, Cynthia was a true professional. Not once did she complain about the heat or bugs, or the 3 inch heals she wore for almost 6 hours! After finding out my groom was unable to make it to the shoot due to a family emergency, I quickly texted Thomas to see if he could fill in for my absent model.  Without hesitation Thomas agreed and was at the shoot within the hour after working a full day at his regular job.  Little Eloise, the flower girl in the photos, was a delight and so photogenic. I think she added that extra sparkle to the photos. Thank you, Cynthia, Thomas and Eloise!

Last, but not least, I have to thank my husband, Curt, for being my unpaid assistant for the day. Without protest or complaint, Curt moved furniture, held the reflectors, set up and tore down my equipment, drove me and the models around the countryside, and even laid down in the mosquito-infested grass holding a flash so I could get that all important shot. Thank you, Curt! XO
